Old Minecraft.

Just a common question that comes to mind.
i prefer older ones, because I love the feeling of the old textures and everything.
Personally I started playing in 1.2.5, and I play singleplayer in 1.2.5 because I think these things (and more) are what makes new versions worse:
1. New textures. Old gravel textures, old food textures, even the slightest changes in the default vanilla texture pack. Old charcoal. Etc.
2. New blocks. What is the point in stained clay? Hard clay? Just decoration...I'd rather there not be confusion.
3. Pointless updates. 1.4.1, 1.4.2, 1.4.3, 1.4.4, 1.4.5, 1.4.6, 1.4.7. I clearly remember most of these useless bugfixes.
More reasons, but I don't want to bias you too much lol.
Comment on what version you like most, and why, and what version you started playing!
Thanks and I hope this generates some discussion
For all people who haven't experienced some of the old stuff, here:
Charcoal used to look exactly the same as coal.
Some foodstuffs used to have a black outline but no longer do.
Creative inventory was unefficient and was unsorted and hard to find things.
All logs crafted into the same texture of wood and held no difference.
Used to be barely any mobs and no hunger bar.

I would still like to go back to beta, when everything was simple and perfect.

Hey, you have to admit, atleast one good thing came out of the new versions. The 1.6 launcher. Now you can easily backdate back to your old Minecraft versions and never update again.

The 'old' gravel texture you presented literally looks exactly the same as the apparently 'new' one.

This sounds more like a Blog xD I personally prefer older versions as that was when i started playing , so I didn't understand the game and enjoyed it more than I do now

However , for building , all of the new blocks are VERY usefull
