1.2 Pre-Release
Does anyone know how to update to the latest pre-release of 1.2? I downloaded it, but it gave me a .zip file. I unzipped it and now I've just got this folder that I'm not sure what to do with. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

just do what i said with the /jar its the official release from mojang and is how u should do it, you downloaded something weird
I've never installed a mod, so I'm not familiar with the process.
If you've never installed a mod/jar before, I suggest you take a look at some youtube videos, as they are easier to follow than a few lines of text. And it's fairly simple, so no worries about it being complicated ^^
Is It a Jar? If so, Replace the jar in your .minecraft/bin with that one.
you need to copy and past all the stuff in the folder in the your .minecraft like a mod
use this
http://assets.minecraft.net/12w07b/minecraft.jar think u downloaded server one by mistake
then %appdata% .minecraft, bin and paste it there instead of minecraft .jar currently installed
