*Install guide from original 1.8 post*
Download the Client files listed above to whatever directory you would like on your PC.
Hit the Windows key. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, type "Run" into the search box and choose "Run" from the search results. Otherwise, choose the "Run" command off of the Start Menu.
In the "Open" text field, type "%AppData%" without the quotes and press "OK."
Locate the folder labeled .minecraft (note the period before minecraft), and make a copy of it. You can do this by right clicking the folder and selecting "copy." Then, choose a different directory folder (such as "Documents"), right click, and select "paste." Now you have a backup of your Minecraft files if anything goes wrong.
Return to the original .minecraft folder, open it, and access the bin directory.
In the bin directory, locate the "minecraft.jar" file and delete it.
Locate the client file (minecraft.jar) you downloaded at the start and move it into the bin folder, replacing the file you just deleted.

Umm don't think i know what you just said but i have not run any MC Patcher. I just downloaded what was on the 1st post . At the bottom it says ''Minecraft Beta 1.8 Pre-Rlease'' if that helps.
check the version listed in the bottom left - if you ran mcpatcher then maybe you forgot to delete minecraft-1.8.jar as listed in the mcpatcher thread? (if not then this doesnt apply but thats the common cause of your question)
Did you replace the minecraft.jar that was in the bin folder with the new one that you downloaded?
Yes. I closed minecraft. Went into the path then into .minecraft/bin and i deleted the minecraft.jar there and copied, pasted the one i downloaded (yes im sure i copied the right one.)
umm the .jar that i downloaded doesn't seem to change anything none of the fixes that bolly told me are in it. Anyone help me plz?
For those using MCPatcher HD textures - a new version that is compatible with this is out also: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232 ... d-fix-211/

it's best to only give out the official minecraft.net urls as nobody knows what's been modified in anything else
