The link is a petition to reverse the EULA rules getting rid of pay to win, so that Developers and owners get their salary and players keep their ranks.

Why do people still make threads about this? Mojang will not do anything, and that's a good thing. Can people just stop arguing with the EULA, something that makes the game better?

Unfortunately, most players do not find cosmetics an appealing purchase on a Survival/Factions/Prison server. It's sad that most players won't donate to support the server.

It's too bad that some servers cannot hope of paying for themselves with the EULA around.

Why is this still a thing UGG!

Can we just go back to the old EULA? It says no one, including servers, are allowed to make any money off of their game. Or would you like to stay with this EULA which says that you are allowed to monetize your server a little bit, as long as it is within Mojang's guidelines of course.

If you are using a Minecraft Server as an income, you got to know that running a Minecraft server is not stable. The game could just die, people lose interest, every game will die at some point, what are you going to do then? If you are or even plan on having a Minecraft server and get an income, or you are using a server as an income, STOP! JUST STOP! If you plan on having a server, do it for fun, not for the money, you are not going to get far. Its like YouTube, if your only in it for the fame or money, and not for just doing it for fun or because you just want to show something off, you are not going to make it far, YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL!!! PAY 2 WIN NEEDS TO DIE!!!!!!!

Some people have a wierd, twisted view of reality that shows them making money off a video game that they don't own. They don't even own the server (most of the time). Usually they just rent it from a server host!
If you made a game, would you want other people to go and sell components to your game that made it unfair for other players, and you weren't making a profit? Anyway, why would I help a petition that had a negative effect towards my life? I don't want Pay2Win in Minecraft servers. I always hated it.

Donations ARE NOT income, and when a player DONATES to a server THAT MONEY IS MEANT TO GO TO THE SERVER, not the owner for PROFIT. This is called STEALING. So let's not try to bleed small children of their mother's bank accounts just so you can have some extra money to go buy a new PS4 when you need one.

A player donates to the server, not the owner. There is a big difference. If you really want to, just start a Patreon for your server so people that really care can donate to you and make your "salary." This is seriously dumb.

IvesEven if millions of people sign this, they don't have to change anything. They're not going to because they don't want people illegally making money off of their product.

Making money off of their game is not allowed, it is and has always been illegal, and they're just now starting to blacklist it because they got tired of huge servers making lots of money off of it. They're disguising selling something they don't own as "donations".

This is not to mention the blatant lies/false truths in that petition. If you at least want a shot at making a change, you need to look like you know what you're doing. This petition is poorly worded and probably won't get very far.

Owning a server is not a job

Yes, actually, running a large server is a job, you do get paid, and if your server is large enough, you most likely will need to hire full or part-time staff/developers as well as people to monitor hardware, etc, etc. You can make a living being a developer for large servers.

Well if you are making money from it its actually against the EULA so no its not.
Edit: and so back on the actual thread, im the type of person that if your crap is pay to win it means the server sucks, which means i leave pay to wins all suck. i have enjoyed the change as a player, i mean sure i can no longer host a server buuut....

I see a lot of people saying that owning a server is not a job... Sometimes it's not about being a job or not. The truth is that i can be lucrative and who knows, maybe some people may depend on that outcome for a living. That's just like saying that being a "youtuber" is not a job. In my point of view it becomes from the moment you depend on it to have food in your table. By the way, I'm not saying that this petition is even something that should be done 'cuz it's not going anywhere like we all know. And in anyway I don't see that EULA being in any way prejudicial to most server owners. It might be in some way but if those servers are still online that means it isn't what you make look like.

Can you give me one reason why you think the EULA itself is unreasonable? I understand Mojang shouldn't have allowed pay2win servers in the first place and it was unfair the way they went about suddenly enforcing it, but what's so bad about Mojang protecting their intellectual property in the same way as every other company?

Additionally, there are many ways to monetize servers without unfair advantages. Ingame ads, priority in joining games, cosmetic items, etc.

Can I please start a reverse Reverse Eula petition? If servers can't figure out how to make money without selling access to content that doesn't belong to them, they don't deserve to still be online.

I mean, I know someone who lives off of their server. It isn't pay-to-win, it's pay-to-get-non-gameplay-changing-perks. That being said, the EULA should simply be followed rather than be removed; they have the ultimate power here.

Alejandroo I am just doing it now due to RECENT blacklisting. Okoloto, it can be considered one, and developing is a job. NewSuperMario I am saying change it again and stop black-listing, it should be the servers choice if it is pay to win. Illuminati128k if everyone has "hundreds of dollars to dump on every server" then 1. It's perfectly fair to be pay to one because everyone can afford it. and 2. Why doesn't every one have ranks if they have "hundreds of dollars to dump"

I understand some people can't afford ranks, but not everyone can afford doctors or lawyers. Life is pay to win if you think about it.

Please read before you speak. He said NOT everybody has hundreds of dollars, and as for your last part. Everybody has access to a free lawyer in the US, most have insurance for doctors, and some countries provide free healthcare. Pay-2-Win is a cheap, cruddy way for people to make money, and most servers who rely on it don't deserve the money they get from it.

EDIT: Just gonna leave this here... http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/the-eula/

Mojang isn't going to listen to your pro-pay2win lies. It's not their fault that not everybody has hundreds of dollars to dump on every server just to be on par with everyone.

Afaik the EULA existed from the whole beginning and didn't allow monetizing at all. But then they changed it to allow it if certain conditions were met. If you revert the EULA changes you would then technically just make it worse...

Instead you could do a petition to stop the blacklisting though, or just change the EULA again
