very often small servers have staff members that love to fake being herobrine and scare new players. i find that childish, and seriously, it's so overused it's not a joke/prank anymore. if we ever were to really see herobrine or any other scary things on a server, it has a 90% chance to be a staff member, so we can't tell whether we should post or not.
i still don't understand how can these people find this kind of prank funny in any way, but i wish they stopped.
