Sponge

Bukkit looks to be closing down unless Mojang does something, but there is this new API called Sponge, does anyone know if the bukkit plugins will work with this? Or if you have any more info could you share it with me please!

Sponge was created as a new server software to get out of the mess bukkit was left into, unfortunately to do that means that the API which is copyrighted cannot be reimplimented and a new API has to be created.
Short answer: no all the plugins will have to be rewritten for sponge.
