Texturepack problem
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section.
I'm trying out different texture packs and took a liking to dokucraft light, but several packs have this problem. I usually run it at 50 fps (depends on circumstances) consistently
Whenever I fight mobs it dips all the way down to 20. There's no explanation as to why because I have the 50 fps until I hit them.
I'm running it with MCpatcher because I love the connected textures and the sky, and I don't think that optifine supports it.
Help? It doesn't happen with the default pack or even some very intensive ones, just this one. (Dokucraft Light)

Like I said Try the particles
Right but why is this problem happening then
Depends on a lot of stuff. What I think is that the GPU is low-end and when mobs pass by it overloads with information and causes the lag.
that's what I was saying only it gets worse when he hits them because there is much more info being ran through it like damage and knockback and the red flash/particles critical hit particles just lots of things. I say put it on fast graphics and minimal or at least decreased particles.
tl;dr
Put everything to minimum. After that start raising it slowly until nothing happens.

What's you're Graphics card? If you have one. But still you should be able to run it.... Perhaps lower particles that might help a little or possibly put graphics on fast rather than fancy
Phenoms aren't APUs, so he SHOULD have a discrete GPU. If he doesn't, IDK how he's playing Minecraft.
Well this happens on my computer because it is low en with most texture packs. It could be the animation of the mob bein hit that slows you down. The sudden change of color to red and then back to normal and the jump the mob does from knock back could be doing it. What kind of computer do you have what are the specs?
IT's a pretty nice pc.
AMD Phenom quad core @3 ghz
8 gb of ram
It's easily able to run everything else. Why not this? Is there any way to disable the red flashing?
