The Minecraft "Snowy" Paradox?
- As I was planning for updates of my datapacks I found out something rather weird to think of:
As we all know:
- Digging 1 snow layer with a shovel (even if it's Fortune-enchanted) will
always give 1 snowball if said shovel has no Silk Touch.
- Digging 1 snow layer with a shovel that has Silk Touch gives 1 snow layer.
Because you're mining the same block, you can say 1 snow layer = 1 snowball.
But here's the weird part: You need 8 snow layers to build up a block that has the same size and shape as the Snow Block but you only need 4 snowballs to craft a Snow Block.
Therefore, 2 snow layers = 1 snowball?
This is what I call the Snowy Paradox and it's probably why Mojang didn't add a snow layer -> snow block recipe or vice versa. Tell me your thoughts on this in description, and what is truly the right answer here?

This was introduced in 1.13, previously one obtained two snowbalss for the first layer + one for each additional layer when brokem with any shovel. (In java, snow did not accumulate into multiple layers.)
