Welp, its just about officially here.
In the snapshot versions it no longer say "13w43a" it just say Minecraft 1.7.
Does this mean its just about ready? As far as i know Mojang hasnt officially released 1.7.

I noticed that they talk about "Lots of hidden preparation for allowing name changes."
sounds nice, even though we all know how much it will mess with servers
I also just noticed the wood for Acacia, which is amazing, and dark oak were changed ^~^!
It is a pre-release! So the official 1.7 release will be in like a week or so
