I cannot wait until 1.2.6! It will have different game modes like Capture The Flag and Adventure, a new gem, tripwire, and other cool things!

yes, okay 1.3 i get it
Im going to make my server epic with the written books libraries for my PVP server, all of the books leading to some HUGE major discovery, with a GREAT reward. Im making a plugin for it that shows the person with the books, and the other people can chase that person. Sort of like a killing race to the finish. Person who wins gets immortality and maybe a rank
1.3
man i am gonna do damage with those trip wires!
it's a planned game mode mentioned on the wiki, lol
Learn never to trust everything from wiki sources unless they have been cited, stated before or you already know it. It is a public source which can be useful. Trust things like jeb's twitter, mojang.com and minecraft forums. I haven't heard of ctf mode on any Of these things. Chances are it is illegit. There are a lot of mods/plugins for ctf anyway!

Capture the Flag was speculated to be implemented in the full release of Minecraft, but wasn't.[1] Notch also mentioned that it may be added later.[1]
As said in Minecon [2], Capture the Flag will first be available for the Xbox 360 Edition before the PC version or Pocket Edition.

I can believe now that it was an idea but there is no legiment statement from ANY of Jeb, Mojang (officially) or Minecraft Forums about the capture the flag mode. Also thank you for doing some research and proving your point. I really like the adventure mode because I love playing custom maps but when there are torches and your fighting mobs it gets frustrating when you break them.
What is capture the flag and do you have a source for this previously unheard of feature?
I agree with chrounos, I will be writing books for RPG servers
Hand Held Torch Is good :3 Yesh!
okay okay
Yeah, but it's like Hamachi. You can switch off your network to others, I think.
1.3 and you forgot the joinable single player worlds. That was a great addition.
LOL your good.
the joinable wasnt the best thing to be added because now ill ahve to either exit to the menu or wall my self in when i have to go to the bathroom or get food
Again, entirely people misunderstanding what "local server" means.
All this means is the client is now using the server logic to perform the gameplay tasks, and the client connects to a local binding (read: NOT accepting external connections! Even if it was, the max players is most likely set to 1 internally) socket and sends/receives data (to yourself, mind you, so the latency is usually less than ~10 ms) similar to connecting to somebody else.
Single player worlds are still single player. The only thing that changes is this makes it easier for mod developers.
As for the wiki: the information was not illegitimate. It -is- a planned gamemode. It is not an INTENDED FOR 1.3 gamemode. This page is much more specific to version numbers: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_features
