u could create the server on your own (by help of this page: http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server ) i did it on my own as well, then just stop the server if u dont need it^^ so it wont make u additional costs when u host it on your computer (unless u want it to be running 24/7^^)
in case u wanna know, what ur IP is for friends to join: http://www.wieistmeineip.at/ (its a german page, but i guess u ll get the ip as well otherwise google it^^)

i mean for them to create one on their computer and then give the files to me
people cant spend money for make u a server XD, i think people is saying "u need to buy a plan for host server..
can someone make the server then give me the files? and i can get a plugin for bukkit that keeps the server up
there is a thing called bukkit and if u just share the files of the server with friends u trust from arround the world u can run the server 24/7 like me im almost 24/7 online i just sleep 3 or 2 ours then i get on again so.

Acually most hosting complies have refferal program where for example you get someone to pay $50 a month for a server then you get 20% so you would get a $10 a month server free
I wouldn't say most. Some, but not most.
Or open a LAN server and invite a couple of weirdos with minecraft to you house
Then you are out of luck D:
im just a kid
Well either you need to buy a plan or you wont get a server...
What Marius said, The economy is going to shit and there is no way someone would host for free for you unless you had a reason that benefit them.
If you want a server find a hoster and buy a plan.
Hosting on computers is costly and requires the computer to be on all times so the server stays up.
