Tutorialise: I made that up!

You bought the game, you downloaded the launcher, it updated, and you're in. Now what? It's the question on many new players' lips, but one that has still not been officially addressed. Unlike in Minecraft: XBOX Edition there is not tutorial or directive game play feature in Minecraft for PC and Mac.

One of the more obvious solutions to this is a simple tutorial map. With recent updates providing what will be a huge toolkit to use as the basis of making this map and the interactivity it will require, but now we need only two things: someone to plan the map, and someone to build it.

If you were tasked with the role of planning such a map, how would you do it? What elements would you explain, and how would you do it? What order? Activities? Achievements? You'd have to be specific, as some of the teachings you give may need to be addressed by the environment itself. What kind of trees are there, if any? Is the terrain flat or hilled? What is it made of? These are all questions that you would have to answer, set aside from tens (possibly hundreds) of others.

This would be a nearly impossible task to complete on your own, which is why it is so great to have such an extensive and participative community to help each other out.

Due to the lack of any tutorial in Minecraft, I've proposed that we all contribute to creating the game's tutorial, and that we all take part in creating it (both the planning and building).

So, I ask you, how would you plan Minecraft's tutorial map? I plan to collect all of your ideas and compile them into an actual planing document, which we may be able to use to actually build this map. Take part and contribute to the future of Minecraft!
