Hello! What makes you stay on a server? My answer to that question is that the server i'm playing on must be unique. How? I don't know. I would like to know if any of you have an idea on how to make a server unique and attract players! Try and get creative because what's minecraft about? Creativity of course! Please reply to this post as it may not help only me, it may help other server owners out there as well. Thanks!

Hmm... What makes me stay on a server... Well, what makes me stay on a server is not any of the plugins, but the community. For me, friendly staff and players are key to making me stay on a server. It doesn't need to be Bukkit, ( It could be Vanilla ). Bottom line is that having a friendly and welcoming community will do you good.

Make something that they can't get on another server, that they have to come to you for. For example, I bet if I closed off my mods to only work on my server (which collectively get around 900 downloads a day), I'd hit max load within a week - Obviously I don't want to do that, but it's just an example.

Having a good community, and good staff. Also having a webpage and teamspeak or another way for your members to talk.
Teamspeak hosted separately so that is the server is down teamspeak is still around this is a must in my opinion.

What really makes a server unique is the topic. If youre doing survival/RPG, how about custom terrain? Or, if it's a minigame server how about some unique minigames, brought by your own mind and creativity? Intead of copying the same minigames you've seen a thousand times on oh-so-many other servers, make your owns! Or similar ones but with a twist! I'm working with some friends on a new server, and we're planing some unique minigames.

Yeah, I understand Customness = Unique, but what types of custom things because everyone has maps/shops/ranks ect.
