What is the BEST java edition version?

Liking any other version of Minecraft is usually just meaning you like the update it came with. For example, I feel like the only likely reason someone would like 1.10 for any reason is the cause of the update it brought with it, and not because it's the best version of Minecraft to play on.
This is generally why 1.16.5 and 1.8.9 are the most popular. 1.16.5 is the most "modern" version of Minecraft and 1.8.9's PvP mechanics are enough to keep a lot of people playing on it for that reason alone.
Why PvP alone is an exception to say, Redstone or Building, for example, is because it's much more special between versions.
Building on 1.8 is essentially the same as building on 1.16, but you just have fewer blocks and different textures.
This applies to any other version, really. Why build or do Redstone or Build with fewer blocks and tools available to you when you can just do the same thing with the same blocks on a more recent version, both with more tools available to you (both in literal tools like new Redstone blocks, and other ways like better command support, etc) and more blocks.

These options are very weird... shouldn't it be 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16 and 1.17?
How is 1.13 not even on this list?! In my opinion 1.13 was by far the best Minecraft update so far. But 1.17/1.8 will also be the update that Minecraft has always needed.

i use 1.6.5 and i like it
1.8 ppl hypixel is the best
1.8.9 the best for pvp
I loved 1.0 and 1.7.10. Oh man when 1.3 came out, that was so much fun.
1.13 is revolutionary for command blockers due to its changes of the command syntax allowing us to do a lot more stuff (Homing missiles anyone?)
1.17 is pretty revolutionary in worldgen for both normal people and command blockers (because better world/dimension settings im pretty sure)
