What kind on server would you play on?

Hello PMC!
I'm the proud owner a server. But! We dont have much players and we are a Faction server.
WE NEED NEW IDEAS FOR A SERVER!!
We decided to remake the server 100% and listen to what you and your friends want to do on a server. What ideas do you have?
It sounds like no one want to use factions any more.
The ideel server what is that for you? Minigames,factions,vanilla,whitelist, etc

I'd play on a survival games that is as cruel with loot as Hypixel's 'Blitz' survival games but with Sethbling's PVP system instead!

The one thing me (and my small group of friends and cousins) miss from all faction servers in a PVP line
Just a line in the ground marked by obsidian or something, pvp on one side, safe on the other
Brings back so many memories, but no other server has this anymore D:

solution for hub.
install the multiverse plugin and you can make multiple worlds in one server;)
on this way you can maintain faction, survival, rpg, creative and many more ideas in one time.
but, every world is using your ram ofc, so make sure it is enough ram to prevent lag^^
my server idea is to make a rpg capture the flag server.
wont tell the entire idea cuz if i have finnished my own it wont be original anymore.

Modded Sky block what I play by my self why would doing it on a sever make me any less happy with it.

a server like mineplex except with survival and less hackers

For me, I would like a server that is simple. A whitelist, a kind of survival server where you could team up with other players, mini games where you could earn money. And a pvp arena would do it. That is, for my opinion.

Creative Plot Server (only 1.6.4)

Everyone is different and is looking for different things in a server. Changing the type of server will just different people, not more people. If you advertise and talk to your users about what they want, then you will get an idea of what changes you should make. Also, I found that having TeamSpeak helps so there is an easy way to communicate and it helps bring the Community together so players will stay.

KitPvP server, me and my friend love kitpvp servers with these features:
- All kits are free, donors only get a prefix and one or two special kits, but not super OP ones
- Some kits I love are:
Smasher (look it up)
Kangaroo (its obvi)
Swapper (Throw a snowball at someone to switch places with them)

A server where you can earn money, and, eventually, buy a plot of land in a town. As you continue ranking up by mining and selling items, you can join a company of a more experienced player, which would pay you more money. You can then afford to buy bigger and better plots, and, if you want to, start a new town by buying the ability to make a warp.

I'd play on a survival server with minimal plugins. One cool thing about the server would be that you could buy a plot of land inside the spawn, so it's like a little town area. The protection/build height (both up and down) would be limited, so that users don't create massive towers for storage.

Factions is overused as you have already mentioned, I would say that there is a lack of decent survival servers I think, there's too many servers where it's pvp, pve, minigames etc etc.

This is exactly what my thought is. At the moment I am setting up a server the way it's "perfect" to me. It will be a hybrid survival server.
The idea is that you get absolutely nothing and are meant to either start a life of your own, or find people to help you. I will be using plugins to support a player-based economy as well as trading. I want it to work like the real world, where everyone either works together for a greater goal or there are several people working against that for whatever reason they might have.
