Hi. LimeFox here today. I wonder what is the next version between 1.10 or 2.0 (except 1.9.* versions)?

It will be 1.10, for the reasons explained in the posts above.

[Major Version] [Version] [Patch] (The software versioning scheme]
It will most likely be 1.10 because this is a bigger update than just patches and bug fixes, yet smaller than a Major Version release like 2.0 would be as it is not changing major parts of minecraft like how its rendered, etc. So instead of going to 2.0 they would go to 1.10 and so on until they feel they need a major update

I actually think that they'll call it Minecraft 2.0, but it will be a major update, probably around the size of the Adventure update, so it would be like a big change, if you know what I mean. I wish they stuck to the idea of putting out an update similar to say, the Redstone update every 3 or 4 months or so.

Both Microsoft and Mojang have said there won't be a "Minecraft 2".
However, even if the next version after 1.9 will be 2.0 it wont actually matter.
The content brought through the 1.10 or 2.0 will most likely be of the same quantity as previous updates, like 1.8 and soon to come 1.9
The naming convention for updates isn't important. Its what those updates bring.

nammerbomi.e. Grand theft auto 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4)
I think you mean Grand Theft Auto 5... because there isn't two GTA IV's

The way update decimal systems work, it would not make sense to have 2.0 after 1.9. After 1.9 comes version 1.10, heres why:
Lets take version 1.8.7, for instance, and break down what each decimal means.
"1" - Shows that it is the first version of the game, the first written code. The code has not been re-written to make a new game entirely.
"8" - Shows that it is version update number 8. These updates come with new content for the user to enjoy.
"7" - Shows a minor change in the current update, usually series of bug fixes, but no new content.
Therefore after 1.9 (First game version, update number 9), will come 1.10 (First game version, update number 10), of course, with the various other bug fix update decimals after those. Version 2.0 of minecraft would be a complete re-write of the game, and would probably require the user to purchase the game again (similar to other game series i.e. Grand theft auto 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4)
Hope this makes sense

It makes more sense if it was 1.10, for a simple reason: If it was 2.0, it would be "Minecraft 2". If it's the same game it doesn't make sense to be 2.0.
Also remember that there was an 1.7.10 before 1.8 , so yeah that's my opinion

Or they could just rename it and change the version to 0 again.
