I never hated anyone for liking a console. I may hate the person, but not for liking something.
I always prefer PC, but I don't hate others for liking Xbox XD
Think of all the people who will say, "I liked ___ before it was popular". The people who say that PC Minecraft is superior to console or PE are just like that. The map size limitations are something they use to flaunt in the faces of others; that their map size is bigger than Neptune.
But I don't understand why they act all superior to people who play non-PC. Some people don't have the specs to play it, or they just don't want to for whatever reason they choose. If you take one look at the skins for console, it's pretty obvious that they're better than PC (As in, look at that helmet size. Dang!).
Each to their own, but I've had all these versions for a while, and seeing as they really do stretch what their mediums can do (especially the Pocket Edition. I remember that used to heat up my old iPhone), they're each superior in their own way.

I don't hate people who play the console versions, I just don't particularly care for the console versions themselves since they're behind the original PC version when it comes to updates
That's because they probably don't like the fact MC is expanding to other platforms. They think people will branch off from PC and leave to use other consoles which is absolute hogwash, lots of people play and continue to play on the PC. Sorry that people are being stupid.
I can speak without a bias, so here it goes.
I myself am a bit of a PC Enthusiast (4670k, 750Ti, etc), so I can essentially say that the only reason why a PC gamer would hate on a console/mobile crafter is the fact that some of them have managed to brainwash themselves believing their version is superior (PE users for On The Go, Xbox for the lie that "the chunks already load"), Both versions are drastically inferior to the PC version for multiple reasons, such as a decreased map size (PE is getting infinite so that's something), notably higher framerates (especially with a 120/144hz monitor), MODS (Shaders, Flans Mod, CNPCS, the list goes on and on), and the fact you don't have to pay for texture packs or skins, I myself occasion find well, myself mocking both versions for their limitations, but I can say that the only reason PC gamers hating the console/mobile gamers are simply because they sparked the arguement.
