I have had Xray mod for a long time, and when 1.8 came out I got the new version and it ddidnt work. Can someone Tell me what I did wrong or get me a link to a better one?

In single player it breaks the one of the fundamental gameplay mechanics--a rule of the game. Not knowing what's underneath you is fun, and is a huge part of Minecraft. It may make it "funner" to use xray, but to me its cheating and makes the game feel way too easy. In SMP, it definitely is cheating unless allowed by the server.
For you it might be fun, but for me its silly and pointless. Using exploits, like where you used to be able to see through walls by standing half way inside a gravel block back in the day--THAT doesn't break any rules and can't be called cheating. Sure its cheap and isn't in the spirit of Minecraft, but hey its built into the code. Installing gameplay breaking hacks isn't--and is cheating by any definition.
Don't know why Xray is called a hack :/ But either way no one will win this argument due to the fact it's basically opinion VS opinion. But like you said, Xray is only cheating if you use it on a server that doesn't allow it. Most server have rules against using exploits. So in some cases, that gravel exploit was cheating.

I agree with you both, but props to Panda for keeping it legit. Cheats like x-ray just ruin the game. Its way more fun and rewarding to find diamond without cheating. Throw in hardcore mode and its even more entertaining! [/quote]

One, I use it to get ore, and two, I got it too work!
X-ray mods are for griefers. Griefers suck. And since I'm not a griefer, I have absolutely no idea how any X-ray mods work
There is nothing used for just griefers. Fly mod helps builders. Xray makes finding minerals easier. Sneak is AMAZING for PvP.

He was indeed a wise man. But I can assure you I have never used hacks or mods, and I never grief. I have only seen videos of people using X-ray packs to grief. It is more common for people to use them for mining, but i guess I've just never seen it.

Forced and everything, the Buttons even come up, it just wont activate
Ok ill try but ill have to reset all my other mods too
try force updating and re-installing X-Ray mod to see if it would make some success
I know how to use it, it even shows the controls in the menu, but it wont activate...
