Best tutorial for Java basics?

Hey guys, I am an aspiring computer scientist/video game designer! I am only 16, but I have been wanting to start developing my own plugins and mods. Problem is, I don't know java. I am taking Visual Basic this year, sophomore year, and am really understanding it and having fun. I was wondering if Java was similar and how much harder it is. I don't take a Java class till next year, so any good sites or videos that you can recommend me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Code academy does not teach Java. Javascript and Java are not the same thing. Personally I think the best way to learn is through a book.
