Hello guys! Today I'm coding a GTA V mod, with cars, guns, Trevor, the dog("Chop")
and more! But its going to be for my server! (You can buy it off me)
Also, post your suggestions on what I should add! Hope to seeing you
looking forward! Enjoy!

Edit: You can play it on my server!

Silvania StudiosCan I clear up a load of things here:

1. Mojang say you're not allowed to sell mods. I think that's been covered but some people refuse to beleive that...

2. You CAN however have advertising (eg AdFly) over your mods if you want to earn money.

3. Tekkit is NOT a mod. it's a modpack. Totally different thing.

4. Microsoft don't sell the skins, the Minecraft xbox team sell them through the microsoft store. Microsoft gets a small part of the money in order to pay for their services, and the rest goes to whoever develops the 360 version of the game (If I remember right Mojang outsourced it?)

MozCatXIThere bad, you kids don't understand life, still living with your mom and dad. Well, when your out, tell me about how broke you are and will use any skill you have just to live. Once you have experienced that, come talk to me.

The point that I am trying to make here is. Yes he can sell it, if he wants to. Just as long as it still requires base minecraft to play it. Its all legal.

I know exactly what you mean in the first paragraph. I'm broke, working a minimum wage job which nearly kills me every day. But, that doesn't mean I'm gonna break the law by selling content illegally.

Mojang's T&C clearly says you're NOT allowed to sell mods. Countless people have already quoted the T&C, what part of that don't you understand?

If he really wants to try and earn money off his mod, he should have advertising. This month my AdSense and AdFly combined will be paying out around $250 - probably more than he'd earn through sales anyway - and my mods aren't even that popular.

Also, one final point- selling things on PMC is also against the rules.

Now, back on-topic. Have you ever actually made a mod? Cars and guns are both pretty challenging things.
If you actually are good enough to make those, for the love of god, make something original. I -hate- all these mods based off games and films. Nothing original about them.

Did the people who made Tekkit sell their mod? No, and that was a big mod.

Tekkit is a compilation of mods, the fellas at the technic launcher threw a bunch together so they can't charge since it would break Mojangs copyright AND the mod makers copyright.

tekkit has changed now--if you look at the mods about 99% of them now have permission from the authors

I know this. They still can't use Tekkit for commercial profits, still against the modmakers and Mojangs T&C's.

Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money. We reserve the final say regarding what constitutes a tool/plugin and what doesn't.

Read the post above... You would sell a mod? Because you care more for money than peoples happiness? Ive spent almost a year developing a plugin and the last thing i would do is ask for a single penny for it. Microsoft got away with selling skins? I think my IQ dropped after reading that, dumbass.

Mods like Technic are HUGE game changing mods. They are FREE. Sorry, but I have to doubt that you have the skill to make a mod quite as intricate, big, and game-changing as Tekkit. No one is going to buy a mod from you, besides the fact that you are not allowed, because:
MojangDo not distribute anything we've made. This includes, but not limited to, the client or the server software for the game. This also includes modified versions of anything we've made. Also, you may not resell any gift codes or licence keys - but of course you can give gift codes as gifts. This is necessary so that we can help stop piracy and fraud - and especially users buying keys that have been fraudulently obtained.

Lol you spend 1 year what about minecraft updates, with every update you started overall for update lol looks legit

Yeah... I said plugin not mod. With every API update of bukkit I have had to rewrite my plugin... correct.

Right, good luck making a mod for minecraft, that is nothing like minecraft. Which you still cannot sell...

Objection! Minecraft is a free license for anybody to use for any purpose, commercial included. He can sell it, and I would. How do you think microsoft got away with selling skins? Dumbass.

What You Can Do

If you've bought the game, you may play around with it and modify it. We'd appreciate it if you didn't use this for griefing, though, and remember not to distribute the changed versions of our software. Basically, mods (or plugins, or tools) are cool (you can distribute those), hacked versions of the Minecraft client or server are not (you can't distribute those).

Any tools you write for the game from scratch belongs to you. Other than commercial use (unless specifically authorized by us in our brand and assets usage guidelines - for instance you are allowed to put ads on your YouTube videos containing Minecraft footage), you're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around, that's no fun. Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don't sell them for money. We reserve the final say regarding what constitutes a tool/plugin and what doesn't.
