When ever you are installing mods (client-side), you will need to delete META-INF from Minecraft.jar
Also, sometimes when you are installing mods, not all of them are compatible with others so they will just not work and Minecraft can crash.
I think this is because:
When you drag and drop .class files into Minecraft.jar, sometimes you could replace a modified .class file with another modified .class file therefore the mods will not work together (sorry if this explanation does not make sense).
If all else fails, delete the .minecraft folder (backup saves folder of course), force update, and start all over.
Hope this helps

(HOW TO FIX PC ERROR)
Click start, type into the search bar %appdata% click Roaming, now click .minecraft and copy it to your desktop (this is backup). You can also do this for your saves. Once you've done that go back to .minecraft (In roaming) and delete it. Now open minecraft click options and select FORCE UPDATE and login. It will redownload everything. To get your old saves back Copy and paste SAVES into %appdata>roaming>.minecraft and delete the NEW save folder. Hope this helped, sorta.

Well, basically the mods aren't compatible and therefore you can only use one of them at the one time...
Well that's not true i saw on youtube do those two mods.
Force update your game.I think that will fix it I do it on windows but I think force update will fix it.
