again I see no reason why however, maybe either look for an update to these mods or downgrade back to 1.7.2 (If I'm wrong about them working of course :3)

what about Forge? I have 1.7.4 and I want Forge, but it is 1.7.2, and I want a mod for 1.7.2. Do you think it will work?

I'm going to say yes I think the majority of the jump from 1.7.2 to 1.7.4 is mainly bug fixes so I see no reason why not However, don't quote me on this.
