Ok i'll tell you why I still use MCreator 2019.5 for reasons. Ok so When i updated to newer MCreators Im like : this looks more neat and better but its looks fool you, when I code a mob it makes this error on any sort of mob and says Error : cannot find symbol, and the Mcreator place cannot help me as none of the solutions work because they are ethier hard to understand or are to old like 2017 to be working still.
If you know how to fix MCreator with its Error cannot find symbol please post a comment and tell me how, I really want to update but if I do My stuff is ruined.

Its most likely a you problem, and the error appears when you reference a variable that is undeclared/doesnt exist.
Make sure you check for things like:

Incorrect spelling.
Wrong case. Halo is different from halo.
Improper use of acceptable identifier values (letters, numbers, underscore, dollar sign), my-class is not the same as myclass.
No variable declaration or variable is outside of the scope you are referencing it in.
I use Mcreator
I use MCreator 2021.2 and haven't encountered this, but I haven't made mobs much. Based on the one mob I created, it seems to be fine in 2021.1 (the other version I've used).
