Helloooo??!?!?!?!?!

I need some help.

I feel like I have asked this question b4, buuuuuuut....

What version of a mod would I need for it to work for the latest Java.

Mine's 1.21.10.

WHAT ON EARTH DO I DO!?!??!

Anyway, my full question is, what version of a mod should work for this.

If I download Sophisticated Backpacks, it says 1.21.8

That wouldn't work, now, would it??

so, um what version will still be able to be used???

tysm for your help

It would only work for hotfixes I believe in most cases (for example 1.21.6 would work on 1.21.7 and 1.21.8) but since there is a drop in the middle (1.21.9) it would probably not work.

Since sophisticated backpacks hasn't been updated to 1.21.10 (or 1.21.9, which is nearly identical), it (probably) won't work on 1.21.10, so you'll either need to downgrade to 1.21.8, or use a different backpack mod (Traveler's Backpack is a great option with support for 1.21.10).

The issue with this sort of question is that the answer will be specific to each mod. [If the mod/comtent has active comments, you may be able to ask there.]

Mods (etc.) will work across any number of versions — SO LONG AS NONE OF THE THE CONTENT CHANGED HAS BEEN CHANGED BETWEEN VERSIONS

Changes can be quite minor and still bollix the works; as example, Cat Lovers' ReLooting uses overlays because the name of the item dropped when turtles mature was changed from "minecraft:scute" to "minecraft:turtle_scute" in 1.20.5 and "loot_tables" was changed to "loot_table" in 1.21 — requiring three separate treatments to work properly.

The more 'things' are changed by the added content, the more likely that each dropping will contain some change that will require issuing a new version.

idk, I think it works as long as the gap isn't big enough between the versions, so you could try 1.21.8 for 1.21.10, I know it works for things like 1.16.5 ro 1.16.3 and stuff like that

I had a similar situation. I was trying to get mouse wheelie for my 1.21.10 fabric modpack, the latest mod version was 1.20.4. I think it doesnt work unless the version of the mod (in your case 1.21.8) matches the version of the game (1.21.10). So in order to use that mod youd have to make the mod pack 1.21.8 (or any other compatible version) and as far as I know there’s no easy way to do that which means youd have to manually add every mod to the new (technically old bc 1.21.8) modpack and change your settings back

At least I think thats how it works

It would also be easier to make a new modpack on 1.21.8 if your modpack or list of mods you use does my have many mods in it and your mc settings arent too far from default
