I still use 1.5.2 because I can still mod it. I would like to Mod 1.6+ so I can install Optifine for it, but I do not know how to mod it because I don't know how to install Minecraft Forge for the Latest update MC. Can someone link me to installation for Forge fro 1.6.2 and how to install mods for it? Thnx.

step 2: the codes. because forge will now automatically crash if anything is in the forge version.jar [you can find it here C:/%appdata%/.minecraft/versions], you will need these codes:
-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
put these codes in the luncher options' JMV arguments box
then the way you add mods is the same as it always was.
Wait where is the JMV arguments box? Second, where does MineForge Universal Go?
1. Go to edit profile in your luncher, it will be there.
2. ForgeML universal doesn't work anymore, you the installer like I said and just let it install in your .minecraft folder like it will if you don't edit the install path.
*EDIT* When you use the codes and you have anything in the Forge jar [say optifine] it will say this:
[FML] ForgeModLoader has been ordered to ignore invalid Minecraft certificates, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO DO

ok like this:
step 1: ForgeML. You need forge before you can mod. get it here, but use the installer download not the universeal: http://files.minecraftforge.net/

you mod it by modding the 1.6.2.jar, not the minecraft.jar, as the later isn't actually use by the new launcher, hope this helps
