Possible tanks mod
Soon, I will have a laptop and then be able to run mods, and I thought: Hmm, not many vehicle mods on PMC. So then I thought: I know! I can make a tank mod. But I can't.
So the idea is, this is open to everyone to submit their own little bit to the tank mod. For example, if someone is GREAT at coding but terrible at textures, they just submit coding, and vice-versa. Also, sound designers. So if about 4-5 people are interested, we can start work.
Rough idea:
Tanks work on a system like Lego. you build a tank out of blocks, and just attach the tracks and turret pieces so it can be custom built.
Weapon systems: Ok, there are 2 ideas for this, and it would be good if there was both:
There is a 'barrel base' block. This, when right clicked, will open up a screen of a view down the barrel. You can then use the movement keys to move it. You can either use a dispenser which can be moved and rotated, reloaded by getting a 'shell' and right clicking on the 'barrel base'. With an empty hand right click to move it, space to fire and E to exit. OR use the barrel blocks which come in sizes for different shells, used the same.
Movement and rotation:
There will be a 'turret joint' block which is rotated. there is a ladder inside, and then the operator of the barrel base moves the gun to the side, it rotates on this block.
Tracks can be either the 'track block' or tracks which you put on a block, allowing larger vehicles.
Materials:
You build tanks with standard blocks. This means they have the same blast resistance. So, strong tanks will look bad in colour. So, we use a paint brush! they are crafted simply with a stick, feather (wool instead?) and dye.
MGs:
To have machine guns, you can place them on a block and they deploy. They break and drop as normal. Right click and you're using it, E to exit. There is also a 'MG housing' which is a glassy, hard block you can put the MG in so you have cover but can see. You can then fire the MG from there.
Controls:
There is the barrel base, and the movement controls. Right click for a zoomed out view of the tank, movement keys to move the tank. E to exit.
Thats just about it, we'll get to crafting once we've got the main stuff done so for a while, creative only. To organise uploading stuff, I'll edit when we're ready.
Well, thanks for reading, fellas!

With the new updates coming out, I think we'd better leave this until 1.6, which isn't too far off. If we start now, we'll probably have to do some updates for the coal block which is nearly done.
