A small question...
Can I trust the technic launcher or .exe mods? All the ones I seem to run into are .exe, and the technic launcher asks for username and password. I'm not sure if I'm even on the right site. Here is the link:

I'd really appreciate it if you could help, theres apparently many false links and viruses in the various packs, some say so, some don't, my AVG says its clear, but on the net apparently its full of trojans and other viruses/malware.

im just waiting for voltz or FtB to have some kind of greifer protection like factions or towny equivelent. i know this is not going to help from bukkit, because plugins dont work

Thanks, turns out I need to get my own laptop which I can in about 3 months. Thanks again, I can get it on my laptop when I get one. Is there a seperate launcher so the .jar won't be nuked? Or is it so I can play vanilla too? Anyway, loads of thanks.
the techiclauncer is in a completly differernt area, so your original bin and .jar files are safe
the technic launcher is awesome even though they need to fix some issues with a few of the items not working right for voltz (ender missile) other than that technic is basically the same as minecraft no spam no viruses and no hackers just lots and lots of fun and destruction.
and totally of topic but i am wondering if someone can update the explosives plus mod to 1.4.7 and make it easier to install i really want to use the covenant glassing lazer from reach. so yeah if anyone can please update it it would make a ot of people happy and thanks for reading this far.

Thanks guys, BTW, is there a way to use a different pass for my technic launcher? Sorry, not that I don't trust you, I just need to be able to prove that its safe. Again, thanks.
There's no way to log in it with a different password, But what you can do is log on with your normal password and if you think its not safe just change your minecraft password.
The tekkit pack has been popular since beta and was the "big modpack" before ftb I have used the tekkit pack since beta 1.8 and so have many people if it had a virus or anything of the such it would have been reported and taken down by now.
The technicpack is COMPLETELY safe. Hundreds of people would know by now and notch would have shut it down if it was stealing accounts.
