SPAWNERS???

Hello! I am right now learning about mods and things that are somewhat like mods in mine craft.
So, I have TMI and MCedit downloaded and I know how to use both. I am trying to figure alot about how to use spawners. with mcedit i can change what type of spawners but not speeds of spawners or where to spawn things and how close someone has to be. please help me figure out how to make spawners spawn faster and in a certaint spot.
Also, please tell me how to get modloader ON A MAC!!! I am noob with that .

I didn't really understand, but you can use my mod CraftableSpawners.
I am still in need of help :p
