I saw this thing on MCF (here is the url) and it said the bad stuff of reposting mods, including possible malware. here is a link about bad sites
Also, one of them Redistributed MOJANG'S intellectual property which is protected by copyright law and against the EULA to do so. Also, it is a against the law to do that. They can get in Severe trouble in court

Honestly most the time the websites reposting aren't very big and may get like 5,000 downloads top. If it's that big of a deal just email them to take it off and most the time they will.
Also, if you can make a mod without obfuscating the code, put your name in it somewhere :3
It stinks, I've had a lot of my mods reposted to those sites. Usually a license can help.
I actually saw a mod of mine posted on some sites, Even a small mod I made was posted on some russian site and they claimed it was theirs and reuploaded it to their download servers... that pissed me off!
That's why you must always post some copyright note next to your mod, I was too late because they've already reposted it and it was a while ago.
Some people really put a lot of effort in their mods and it's not fair that it gets reposted uncredited, I mean atleast they could specify the creator of the mod and give them credit.
This is happening for a lot of time with no ending, it really must get stopped.
EDIT: You should write something like this next to your mod (not sure what's the best way but you can write it in your PMC post or next to your mod with a .txt file)
