Vanilla Realms Mod Question
I have been seeing in various MC forums that you can use client-side mods (such as minimaps and JEI) on a vanilla realm.
However, the instructions I can find about making it work, are not really written for those of us who are new to MC or who don't have a background in using computers or MC beyond the surface level.
I'm trying to use Xaero's World Map mod https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/xaeros-world-map
in MultiMC with Vanilla 1.17 on a realm server that is not run/hosted/owned by me.
After much searching and arguing with Java 8 which says I am running the most recent version of Java :)
I got Java 16 installed which was required to run the vanilla instance on MultiMC.
The issue now is that I downloaded the Fabric API and Fabric Loader (no idea what those are but the post said I needed them?)
I put all of these files into the mods folder in the vanilla instance.
Clearly I did something incorrect because there is no map when I load the vanilla realms instance.
There aren't any map options, and hitting "M" doesn't bring anything up.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some step-by-step instructions on getting a client-side mod to work with my set up.
if it matters I run Windows 10.
Thank you.
