I want pixelmon

i just downloaded pixelmon and its only for 1.6.4 and i downloaded forge, which is also for 1.6.4. so how do i get that version of minecraft so i can use the mod?

Simple: Select Forge in the Profile Editor of the Launcher

Buy the game and then download "1.6.4" from the launcher after you bought the game.

There are version downgraders out there and some people tend to also save version backups on file sharing sites.....that's really all the help I can give.
