Advertising my server

Okay so recent a few others and i started a server. The only problem is lack of players. At our highest point in the day we get about 15 people on at once. This is rare. I want to know if anyone has any good tricks to getting people to join. I've already posted on a ton of server lists so if that is your suggestion please leave it out.
