BTCraft (concept)
Hello all.
Recently, I have been tossing around several ideas to support the growth of BitCoin. Then it struck me. Minecraft.
What I am looking to do is have a server that runs on BTC or even mBTC. There are a couple ways of going about integrating the two, but first let me go over how the server would work.
The server would just be a normal server really, not a gambling server or anything. Survival, Hardcore, Creative, and maybe a couple games like skyblock. Lets go over how these could be BTC integrated.
---
**Survival**
Survival could have a shop, much like the standard sign shops, but run on mBTC instead. Players may be able to run them, or it could be a mod ran shop.
**Hardcore**
Hardcore. This is for serious players with serious cash. Stardard shops, at much steeper prices. An arena with a massive bounty. And maybe a respawn for some serious BTC.
**Creative**
Creative would host building comptetions with a small BTC reward. You could donate to a player if you really liked thier build as well.
**Skyblock**
Skyblock would have sign shops and the ability to expand your island with BTC.
Of course, these would be ran much like the multiworlds are in most servers today.
---
Now to the more technical stuff. There are four main ways I imagine BTC integration.
Way 1
BTC adresses for every player. You could send to that adress from your client, and seconds later it would show up in-game.
Pros: Fast, easy, and reliable.
Cons: I have no idea how to integrate this. The server would have to host hundreds of wallets. Also, the in-game adress would have to send BTC to the server when ever the player aquired some. This way would have tons of server-client BTC communication and would be hard to code.
Way 2
Players have a BTC adress synced to thier IGN. They would enter it upon registering for the server. When they sent the BTC to the server, they would recive some sort of in-game currency. Eventaully players would be able to withdraw BTC, after enough has built up server side.
Pros: Easy for the player.
Cons: Hard for the server owners. Unless a plugin was designed to automagically pay IGcurrency when a BTC payment was recived, mods would be busy as hell.
Way 3:
BTC packages from the website. These could be kits, server money, server membership(2x XP, etc.) and more. The players could enter thier IGN and BTC address. When a payment is recived server side, the adress is searched and the player is set up with that donation package. Much like the donation packages that you can recive in-game from many servers already.
Pros: Easy integration. Easy to manage.
Cons: A level of trust would have to be put on the server by the players. Also, the players could not earn BTC, which would throw off a LOT of customers.
Way 4:
Much like way 3, except they could request a withdraw from the mods. After as certain amount of server currency is built up, either from packages, trading, or buying, the player could message the mods on the forums with a set message form that has thier adress and in-game name. The mod could subtract the currency in-game and pay the BTC to the player's adress.
Pros: Most likeable. Fast, easy to understand, easy integration.
Cons: A level of trust would have to be established with the server by the player.

Again, these are just some ideas I have tossed around. Please, provide some feedback in the comments. If anyone would like to help me work on this, message me how you want to help. I need coders and mods and a small starting balance (for hosting). I am willing to put in the hours, I just have no resources.
