Hey, I own a server, work with an upcoming network (mc.the-parthenon.com) and I develop plugins for both of them. I want someone who not only can help but wants to help.
Why do I want a coding buddy? To be honest, I have issues staying motivated and although I know I have the skills to complete the tasks I set for myself I usually end up making it harder for myself to complete due to lack of motivation and for example not creating a new class for part of a plugin.
Money? Money will only come if we work for it, and yes money is nice to have, it's a nice reason to work and we can earn money in the following ways:
Working on my server, earning respect from players and getting donations.
Do work for the network I am teamed with.
Visit the Spigot forums and fulfil paid plugin requests.
What's the plan with having a coding buddy? It could be really simply but not necessarily affective, we could say hey this and this needs doing and work separately, however I don't like this method. We can choose what needs to be done, pick the most important of the bunch, and work on it together therefore speeding up progress, spotting each other's mistakes, etc.
BE AWARE: This application is not just to develop plugins and for a rank on the server!
Although the application below is important as it is what I can read to get to know some details about you and therefore knowing how well we could work together. Please answer honestly although please don't take it too seriously!
Application:
How old are you? (I am aware it doesn't affect who you are and your skills):
How long have you worked with the Bukkit API, how many hours per day, how many days per week?:
Do you have experience with NMS (net.minecraft.server)?:
What country are you in? (time difference):
Do you have Skype, can you talk?:
Why do I want to work with you? (hard question right?):
Are you open to work with fun little projects such as small games?:
So you know about me, here's how I've filled it in:
How old are you? (I am aware it doesn't affect who you are and your skills): 16
How long have you worked with the Bukkit API, how many hours per day, how many days per week?: I have worked with the Bukkit API for around 8 months consistently for maybe 4 hours per day, 3 days a week minimum depending on what I am doing socially.
Do you have experience with NMS (net.minecraft.server)?: Yes, but only for the past 2 weeks on and off.
What country are you in? (time difference): England, tend to be on from around 3pm and on.
Do you have Skype, can you talk?: Yes, I prefer talking over typing.
Why do I want to work with you? (hard question right?): I had a reason to learn the Bukkit API and therefore did it to the best of my ability. If I had not learnt a useful amount of Java and the Bukkit API my Minecraft server experience would have been much worse. Knowing this allows allows me to add to the community which gives a nice feeling.
Are you open to work with fun little projects such as small games?: Yes, although I haven't worked with game development in Java for a couple years.
Thanks for any replies! Please only reply here, do not PM as others may find use to the post. Feel free to PM your Skype though.
