[Help] Bukkit Server 1.8 - essentials plugin etc

Is the bukkit server 1.8 the newest ? or is there a better alternative

im asking because there is no plugins like essentials that i could get working on my server which is on Bukkit 1.8 build.


So what is the newest and most reliable with most plugins server build ?

I want it to work on 1.8.1 the newest version..

Please help !
