Choosing a Minecraft Host
Hello all. Over the past couple month's i've gathered information that will help you find the right server host for yourself. Let's get with the basics.
What type of server?
Do you want a Survival or Creative?
-Survival
If your looking for a survival, don't purchase a huge server. Most people don't enjoy playing Survival server's, so, purchase a smaller server. I've listed a couple site's at the bottom of this post that show EXCELLENT hosts.
-Creative
When looking for a creative server, it's best to get a server with at LEAST (Pushing it) 1GB of dedicated RAM. I have purchased a 1GB RAM server and with the plugins I had, 7+, I was experiencing lag, I then moved to a new host cause blocks also disappeared.
How many players?
Most people want to have a huge server, with a lot of players, and a big city. Well, I did too, but I started as just my friend and I. We didn't build much but it was a largish server. Too big for the time. If your looking for a server with around 50+ player's, i'd say look at MrProHosting.com look at the "Diamond" plan.
Do you have a website?
This may not seem like a serious question, but it is! Most large dedicated server's have a website. Owning a large server can be stressful without a site. I went a bought a site from GoDaddy.com for $7.50 a month! (+$10.00 a year of holding a domain name).
Choosing the right host!
I've seen many host's, good an bad. Some terrible. It's best (from my opinion) to stay away from hosts who charge you per player. Because many time's a play will join and then leave, and that'll cost you a $1.20. I've had 3 hosts so far, and i'll show you each of them how good and how bad they are:
1st place: McProHosting.com
-These people have extremely good deal's, LAG free server's, and excellent support. The one DOWN side, is that their test server has been offline for a while, but I think it's because they got griefed. Not sure. Don't forget the trusty old Multicraft management panel!
2nd place: Servercraft.co (I wouldn't use these people!!)
-Servercraft is good-ish. With a McMyAdmin control panel, they are pretty good! I had purchased a Tier 5 plan, and later they raised the prices, we were affected WITHOUT WARNING. They have an interesting file management area, but uploading, an deleting files can be slow due to a "slide" effect they have. I would not use these people anymore! NO SUPPORT, IT TAKES A DAY OR MORE TO GET IN CONTACT!!!
3rd place: Allgamer.net (They do a Per-Player charge)
-I won't go over them, having a Per-Player charge is enough for me to stop writing this crap, and go to bed.
How long do you plan to use your server?
This is the biggest question, DO NOT BUY A LARGE SERVER for 10 day's. Get a small server and build up on it. Just don't make a stupid mistake, server's are not easy to manage.
Anyway's, it's time to go, I hope this help's/helped a bunch of you. Bye!!

@Dadeasty,
Thanks for the comment and appreciation. I just hate seeing "Newbs" waste money on bad server hosts.

for 10 day's? grammar police time.
days is plural so please don't try to make it plural by adding the 's to it. Thanks. Other than that, great guide.
