Hello, I am new to PlanetMinecraft but I have had previous experiences with it. I might want to run a server in the future, but there is one problem! I do not know if my computer is good enough to run a server! I am asking you guys if this computer is good enough to run a server, here are the details.

=====COMPUTER DETAILS=====
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Model: HP G62 Notebook PC
Rating: 4.1 Windows Experience Index

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II P340 Duel-Core Processor 2.20 GHz

Installed Memory: 449 GB (372 Available For Usage)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System

If you are good with computers please tell me if this is a good computer to run a server on, thanks.

Graphics cards don't matter when hosting ...

Only thing that matters is the RAM & Your Internet.

My Result: Not really.

You can host a maximum of:

5
Players at the same time, plus yourself

The problem is that the internet connection speed is too slow to send and recieve data the data for more than 5 people at the same time.

You're probably better off renting a server instead to have a decent experience.

The internet connection is slow because my internet is being "shaped" for going over the download limit .. On the 4th my speed will be back and I'll do the test again.

@milkman yeh it should be fine, but obviously there is a limit to how many people it can host, id say 10 max? so dont go overloading your server with 100 people

Anyways Goodluck here is a guide to make a server if you need just incase

I have a virgin media broadband network, witch is one of the fastest working broadband's in the United Kingdom.

And yes that is my hard drive, My computer setting thing witch tells all the computer data says this: Installed Memory (RAM): 4.00GB

--Is this your hard drive? You need to state how much RAM you have.

Your processor seems just a tad slow but should be fine if you have a good connection. You'll need about 1GB of ram per 10 people you want on the server.
