Solution: use PEX.
It works a lot better, and I can do my best to convert the GM files over to PEX if you need it.
Although, it's probably just that you forgot to set both "#change-displayname: false" and "#add-prefix-suffix: false" to true, and remove the # on those lines if present. After that, a quick
/ess reload
will set the changes in place.
