Help me start a server!

Hi! I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place so bear with me...
I have a cool idea for a server - a huge underground city. However, my computer is unable to run a server and I'm a little new to this. So I was looking for a couple people to help me start a server. It will have to be hosted on someone elses computer too.
If you can help out, post here and tell me about your experience setting up other servers. Or if you need more details about my plans fot the server, just ask. My current computerhas some problems right now so you can expect a reply on Saturday earliest.
