[Beta Testers] Join Now!









Hello everyone,
The Open Beta is almost here! Since our Open Alpha last March we have come a long way, and many features have been added or improved on.
Citadels Online is ready to be opened for testing on Saturday 18th June at 18:00 GMT. We want you to know about the evolution of our development by presenting notes on what we have updated, patched, changed or removed; in other words, please check the Update Patch List 1.17 below.

Citadels Online is ready to be opened for testing on Saturday 18th June at 18:00 GMT. We want you to know about the evolution of our development by presenting notes on what we have updated, patched, changed or removed; in other words, please check the Update Patch List 1.17 below.

Most of the map has been built, although we are still working on a few dungeons. Many areas are ready to be explored, the image menu has been refreshed with easy-to-use commands, the online map is up to date, and many more features have been added as listed below:
• WorldGuard regions have been created, meaning there will be safe zones all around the map, (cities, dungeons etc.) and PvP/attacking other players will be permitted only outside of those areas.
• Online Map improved/updated; if you check our online map at http://play.citadelsonline.net:8123/, the overall design has changed, and the marking of key locations is accurate (mining areas, wood, and other areas of interest).
• In-Game maps have been added, to better understand the city and its structure.
• The City Builds are mostly complete. The 4 major cities: Marblefall, Freyport, Blackbarrow and Priciest are ready and waiting for you to explore. You will find auction houses, banks, and many kinds of shops within their walls.
• Shop Zones have been added in every city, with NPCs ready to sell/buy all kinds of items: Armor Sellers; Weapon Sellers; Recipes Sellers; Building Material Sellers; Potion Sellers; Honor Merchant; Junk Merchant
• Population has also been added in every city, from citizens and guards to the merchants and traders.
• Special NPCs have been added which are used for teleportation or selling scrolls to teleport you from city to city.
• Magic Mine has been completed - a mining area available to the North of Prycrest where you can mine ores at a high level.
• Old Crypt entrance to the dungeon has been improved and it is fully functional, as well as the design entrance for the Catacombs being significantly improved.
• Moor Hollow area (East of Map) has been built and the entrance gate has been changed.
• Mining veins have been improved, as there are many mining zones throughout the map. Finding the actual ores in the mine will depend on the level of the area (large, medium or small deposits).
• Music plugin has been added and a list of tracks will be available for VIP members, using /music.
• Stats command is available - you can check and select your character’s stats (strength, stamina, dexterity, intellect) by using /stats.
• Game menu is now fully functional including the Profession Selection menu as well as a new UNSTUCK functionality with 60 minute cooldown.
• Monthly Reward from Carl the Creeper is functional. You can retrieve a number of shards (currency) from the NPC each month, who can be found in the network Lobby.
Spawn Mobs
• We will spawn low level mobs at the entrance/exit of Marblefall, the city where you will spawn, and the level of the mobs will only increase as you move towards the other cities.
• There will be up to level 30 mobs with this patch, and all the highest level mobs (30-40) will be included in the next update.
• All mobs will drop items, ranging from consumables (like potions) to weapons, armor, and much more.

Many items have been introduced in the game, ranging from common armor, weapon types and consumable items, to special gear like epic or legendary, that are hard to come across. Honor items are purchased from special shops, and of course cosmetic features have been added such as mounts, pets, gadgets, etc. A few specific changes or additions:
• Durability is not active with this update. Weapons are currently unbreakable; with the next update we will create a complex destructible item patch)
• Leather and common armor and weapon items have been added up to level 30 (iron, gold and diamond).
• Honor Sets and Weapons have been completed (Honor items will be purchased with honor points from honor NPCs).
• Special items (rare, unique, epic and legendary) will be found only through Mob drops or Mystery Crates (boxes that can be found in dungeons or purchased online).
• Item Upgrading has been implemented - all items (except commons) will be able to be upgraded using a specific profession to +1 every time, however the crafting of new items will be available with the next patch when the recipes are complete.
• Upgraded Health Bonus and Health Regeneration for all common items which you can purchase from NPCs or as drops from mobs (iron, gold, and diamond).
• Increased the regen quantity given by all Health Potions
• Added Teleportation scrolls that can be bought from NPCs in every city.
• Crates have been implemented and can be found in dungeons, or purchased on our website.
• Keys for Crates will be dropped from Mobs or purchased from our website.
• Shields design option is available with multiple design choices depending on the shield type (rare, unique, epic, legendary).
• Backpack item is also active allowing players to keep a larger number of goods and not needing to return to the Bank as often. However, you can only equip 5 backpacks and they are not easy to find.
• For the moment, professions are not fully functional as no crafting recipes have been added to the game. You can however, select your profession.

• Music and a list of tracks is available with the command /music; the relaxing tone will only enhance your gaming.
• What is an adventure without a friendly Pet: you can purchase dogs, cats and other creatures to follow you in your battles!
• Mounts will be sought after. Upon purchasing the Mount Bundle from the website, players will receive a random mount (a type of horse) which you can use to travel fast to important locations.
• A free amount of Shards per day.
• Various gadgets such as Bat Blaster and Explosive Sheep

Considering that we are offering 50% for our store purchases this weekend, we think you should be able to see what you will obtain, before purchasing the premium feature.
For this weekend only , we are offering the Premium Features free for all players, so you can have even more fun with the many perks the premium feature provides, but baring in mind, it will be lost after the server sweep.
You will receive a book in the inventory, and from the book you will gain access to:
Access to the /home command ( you can teleport to home)
Access to the /sethome (name) command. ( you can set your teleport area)

As the saga continues, or in this case the Beta Testing period, we are adding weekly events to keep things moving while the core game is still being tested and developed.This weekend we have 2 events prepared for you:
Saturday 25'th June starting from 18:00 GMT:
The first event will be the Ice Boat Race, which is a fun and difficult race with medieval boats, provided by the admins, on which we will place you on a special designed ice track, the goal being to be the first to the finish line.

Sunday 26'th June from 18:00 GMT:
The second event will be Hide and Seek , one of the admins will stay hidden somewhere around the map (in any city, house, dungeon, field),He will give you few clues at the beginning, and slowly will expose his location more and more and the first player to find him will be considered the winner.
The prize:
What kind of event it would be, if there would not be a substantial prize? In this case, for both events the prize is: Premium package for 1 month:

We are giving building permission for special rented areas for 3 randomly chosen testers to try out the rent mechanic and build a structure.
Rented areas are pieces of land specially marked that can be rented for a number of shards ( currency ) for private use ( builds, crops, etc)
