How would a friend send me the console for their Minecraft server?

If they are home-hosting it, the only way would be remote desktop. but if its server hosted off a panel then ask them for the URL and login details.

If he is running his server with his computer, then you can't. He needs to let you use the console with his computer. If your friend is running the server with a host, tell him to give you the login information to the admin control panel.
