Server Hosting Help

I am not entirely sure if this is where I post this, but whatever.
So my friend and I are looking to make a small factions serve, but we don't really know of any good server hosting websites. Being that it is a small server and it is just the two of us as of now, we are looking for cheaper hosts, but at the same time, reliable. If the server takes off, we might upgrade it in the future.
With that being said, could anyone recommend a server host? Also, an example or two of server that use that particular host would be great, if possible. Thanks!
