I'm a developer and like most I'm not interested in "friendly work" even if I enjoy it. Good development is a lot work and getting nothing out of it sucks. It's going to be hard to find a decent developer working for free that fit those requirements. Think of it like being a chef. It's a skill you acquire that takes finesse and attention to deal and while you may love being a chef you're probably not going to be willing to use your chef skills if you don't get paid. Not trying to be dick. Just trying to put it into perspective.
