Have you done everything there is to do in minecraft? Does single player seem lonely or boring but servers have too many plugins/a-holes/griefers/lag/etc that just takes all the fun you used to know, out of the game? I know exactly how you feel, which is why I created Simplecraft.
What is simplecraft?
Simplecraft is a simple(duh!)/friendly/small(6 slots)/vanilla server. Many servers claim to be vanilla or have a vanilla feel, but every time I find one of these servers, my hopes gets crushed as soon as I join and get bombarded with colored text and see those huge buildings and signs filled with rules :/ I wanted to make a server that was truly vanilla. But that, would open the door to hackers and griefers, which I hate even more. So I decided to only have enough plugins to keep those hackers/griefers under control*. So I can guarantee the Simplecraft doesn't have nor will it ever have any unnecesary, flashy, game changing plugins.
Why choose Simplecraft over other vanilla servers?
Why I’m glad you asked, you see most if not all other vanilla servers are either whitelisted or are actually bukkit servers. Whitelisted servers require you to fill out some sort of application and then wait for approval, and some of the time they are not even up 24/7 because they are being run on some 12 y/o's home computer. And the problem with most bukkit "vanilla" servers is that, while the owner might have every intention to create a vanilla feel, it is quite easy to get carried away with all the cool plugins. And soon enough, it’s just another bukkit server.
Simplecraft is technically a bukkit server but only to the extent of having a few small simple plugins*, and having these plugins allows the server to be open (not whitelisted). It’s also professionally hosted a.k.a. no lag and 24/7 uptime.
Rules:
Griefing: Griefing is acceptable, if the griefed area was not claimed*.
Swearing: We have a plugin to prevent it, if you slip through the system, you are temp banned and your claims are deleted. Any form of verbally abusing another payer is bannable as well. Be nice, if you cant do that, your not welcome here
PvP: Not excessively, you may not kill any one player more than 3 times within a short period.
Everything else should be common sense, if you see someone breaking one of these rules please email simplecraft@email.com and include any screenshots you think might be necessary.

*Grief Prevention is the best anti-griefing plugin available, every player starts with claim blocks that the use to protect a plot to build a house, or a mine, or whatever. To learn more about the plugin and how to claim land, go on the server and ask how to claim land in chat(even if no one else is online) and a link will come up with a tutorial video.

**Update 11/18**
Im looking for financial support, I haven't figured it out exactly yet but im thinking that donators will get a protected plot or something, I want to keep it fair so no buying armor and diamonds or things like that, whatever I offer it cant be something that will put those with the most money at a huge advantage to everyone else.

So I've decided on having just one plugin for now which is Grief Prevention, this will be a great tool for claiming plots, as well as stopping griefers and chat spammers from contaminating our server.

The server is coming It will be active in 3-6 days, so add it and check back periodically. See you online soon!

Grief Prevention is now open to everyone! So log on for your free 100 claim blocks and stay on for 20 extra blocks per hour!
Not sure how to claim land? just ask in chat (even if no one else is online) and a link to a tutorial video will come up.
I also installed a very efficient anti-swearing plugin, and am in the process of setting up a broadcaster plugin.
