Hello, my name is Nicholas, one of the owners here at Solid Mine Network. We feel like there is a lot of talent here on PMC, and therefore have decided to conduct a thorough interview for potential candidates for our staff and building teams.
I'd like to first start by telling you a little about us and the team we already have built. There are four (4) server owners, each with an individual talent to keep our server running beautifully. We are all adults with responsibilities and keep a very professional mindset in aspect to our servers. Together, we form the hierarchy for a network of multiple servers strung together with BungeeCord. It's a powerful, 184g, 1000 slot network with a 4000 slot lag-free potential that has been in the making for approximately six months. We're nearing the release goal of our project in January, and are interested in prospecting staff members to integrate into our community.
Our website is currently being developed professionally, and so I leave it to the forums to direct fun and ethical players to me. We consider all applications equally and hope even if we can't find a position that fits your particular talents that you'll join us on our network! That being said let's move along into the interview process. . .
Staff Image - It's important that staff maintain an air of responsibility and maturity. Chat spamming, griefing, kick wars, mute wars, random jailing, etc. should not occur.
Communication - Please, communicate with each other, use the forums. Teamwork is what will keep this server stable.You must actively take part in discussions, especially those in the staff forums, as important issues about the future of the server is discussed.
Community activeness - Please try to spend at least thirty minutes a day on the server, and 30 minutes on the forums, to keep up with the community.
Forums - Please be responsible in the forums, do not flame, insult, or belittle users on the forums. Do not delete threads, lock them. Only delete posts if they're inciting flame wars or are completely irrelevant in an important thread, do not delete them permanently.
Player Assistance - If a player is asking for reasonable assistance that you can provide some or all of, do so. Do not wait until someone else gets on, help them out. It's part of being a staff member, and helps everyone out.
Reporting - If you see or encounter a problem, screenshot it, and make a thread in the forums about it. With the size of the servers, it could be days before the proverbial 'someone else' comes along and sees or encounters it. Don't wait for someone who can fix it to get on, report it immediately, so that they're not swamped when they log on, and can get to/remember to get to all the issues that crop up.
Guidelines:
1. Staff members on the server must follow all posted rules and are subject to the same disciplinary actions and removal of rank and staff status.
2. Staff is expected to treat every player and fellow staff member on the server and community with kindness and respect regardless of their rank and personal feelings toward the player.
3. When a staff member is free, they are expected to help out another staff member who is busy or in need of help.
4. If there is an issue on the server among players, or issues with the server itself, staff members are expected to try to help solve the issue to the best of their ability.
5. All staff members are expected to use common sense at all times and use their best judgment when dealing with things on the server.

I personally do not watch baseball, the sport itself did not really interest me, being from Canada, I enjoy Hockey more than any sport.

The biggest obstacle I had to overcome would have to be getting out of my shyness. It was really holding me back from my studies, and getting in the way of my social life. It was a tough thing to do but I am now the main actor in my school's Drama Department.
Q: What interests you about Solid Mine Network?
The fact of it being organized a lot better than other servers/networks. I see a lot of groups that crumble within the first week, this definitely seems like a network that will last

I believe that there is life in outer space. In fact it has been PROVEN that there is life in outer space. Intelligent life however is a different story and my fingers would most likely become numb from typing out my whole theory on "Aliens" "Intel. Life"

Currently I like to talk to him on his skype: God_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. I will not finish it because it would be an invasion of privacy but you should know which one this is unless you have another added. I am already whitelisted and all that and have looked around knowing about the upcoming things to happen. The whole thing is really exquisite especially with all the stuff you still have to do after this server. Anyways, he has told me that I have become an admin due to being friends for so long and I just wanted to make sure. He also told me that I could work my way up to global admin when the time comes that you think I have much skill of. If you say, "I have no authority to talk or intercept what he thought about," then I will suspect that vamp has the whole control over my position in which that will be fine with me. If so then just let me know .
If vamp seems to think that you'd make a good admin that's fine, and I'll talk to him more about it, but there's a lot to demonstrate before I would personally allow it. It's nothing against you, your builds, or even your overall minecraft knowledge. Administration for our server requires a high level of dedication and demonstrated ability to handle the staff I chose. It's also a position that most would consider moderation, which is handled by the moderators. This might be a more fitting position for you (especially considering you couldn't have a grasp of what I expect).
That being said, I'm not saying "no". All I'm saying is it's a position of sure responsibility and there are few openings for it. Administration is usually nominated by administration that thinks a moderator is ready to handle the position because there is an opening (through inadequacy and removal or promotion to Global Admin).
We use a buddy-like system here. Junior Moderators are low on the totem pole, and once the current moderators deem her/him ready they will be promoted to Moderator. Moderators watch the Juniors and try to guide them into that position. Admins will watch the moderators and should an opening in administration be there the admins will then decide which moderator is most ready to take on the position.
A lot of people might fail to meet my expectations. It's nothing personal and we'd be more than happy to give you another chance should you fail to prove yourself the first time.
I hope that rambling doesn't confuse you and instead helps explain a little more into our hierarchy.

A: As other kids or maybe not kids my age, I would want to become a video game developer. I am learning the basics of HTML on a website and learning to code a little bit on another website. I have finished the computer science part of khan academy so I just have to find more websites to learn more. (Any suggestions?)

A: (idk if you would consider this an obstacle) When I was around 2 - 3 years old, I used to get lost a lot. Many times I have been saved by nice humanitarians instead of them taking care of me. My parents would always get scared whenever they lost me because if they didn't find me, they would have basically lost a son. I am very grateful to the people who have found me and waited around till my mom or dad came back to reclaim me.

A: Yes; I do. I definitely think there are intelligent life even if movies and all that other media are wrong. I believe there are some just not within our galaxy. I have even read that there could be another us somewhere far far far far away from our planet that has basically another copy of us there.

(I don't believe I have many difficult obstacles that I have overcome. Maybe it's because I'm a young soul, or even because I'm privileged compared to many children across the globe. Though, here's a shot at an obstacle I overcame.)
I have a fear for preforming. I was at a Cross Country meet, and I was very nervous. I wouldn't want to preform in front of crowds of people for fear that I might mess up (I wasn't the fastest kid on the block, but I never knew that I was decent). I stood up on that track, nervous, anxious, and nauseous. I didn't want to run this race, or show off all the effort I put into practice, but I stood on that track. As that gun went off I screamed, panicked, and died for about a second. My legs quickly recovered, and I dashed as the adrenaline flew through my body. I lost all sense of time, and when the finish line came into view I felt the most whole feeling in my life, satisfaction. I wasn't last or first, but in the middle right where I needed to be. I overcame the fear of failure, and while that may happen in life. I now know how to overcome it.

Honestly, the only reason age is included (as I stated I'm mostly unbiased towards that) is because I'm looking for thorough communication between my prospects and my staff. If there's an age I can look for it helps me better understand why there might be a failure in the transfer of ideas from one person to the other. It took some time to fix everything we gave players in game money and most of the players stayed. Basically I had to make a major choice either to take down the server or try to overcome it.

Hmm...a time I have overcome a major obstacle... This would probably have to be the time I found out I had to get a life changing surgery. This was a few years back, and I was scared to death. I found out that I had a spot on my scalp that without treatment, could have caused a tumor to form. It was either have the surgery, or face the consequences. I was so scared and didn't know what to do. I decided to take the surgery. Turns out the doctor didn't know what the **** he was doing. He completely messed up, and unfortunately would not take any liability for us to sue. So, I had to make yet ANOTHER decision. I had to have plastic surgery to repair the damage done. Just like before, I was scared ****less. But, I went with it. Luckily, this doctor knew her stuff, and to this day, I am doing fine! Thanks doc!

Q: Tell me about a time you've had to overcome a major obstacle.
Hmm...a time I have overcome a major obstacle... This would probably have to be the time I found out I had to get a life changing surgery. This was a few years back, and I was scared to death. I found out that I had a spot on my scalp that without treatment, could have caused a tumor to form. It was either have the surgery, or face the consequences. I was so scared and didn't know what to do. I decided to take the surgery. Turns out the doctor didn't know what the **** he was doing. He completely messed up, and unfortunately would not take any liability for us to sue. So, I had to make yet ANOTHER decision. I had to have plastic surgery to repair the damage done. Just like before, I was scared ****less. But, I went with it. Luckily, this doctor knew her stuff, and to this day, I am doing fine! Thanks doc!

Well for the fact that you were smart enough to add in depth questions to keep away the immature wanna-be's, just intrigues me. Also how to specifically described the way you want your staff to be working on your server means you really want to hire professional and dedicated staff members. You seem to be very ambitious about your server's success, which I love to see in a server. I hope that your server is led in the right direction!

Honestly, anything is possible. Maybe not in out galaxy, but possibly in any others out there. It is even possible that our galaxy in inside of a gumball, or one of trillions. But scientifically, well - there is no scientifically. It is all just based on beliefs. It could all just be an elaborate ruse...

I could go on and on about things I've triumphed over, but the coolest thing was something I did almost two years ago, while I was living at college my freshman year. I ended an abusive relationship and he tried to turn our mutual friends against me. I could go on about how lame it was to have people look at you like you are a living pigman, but that's not interesting. At some points I was too depressed to move, but I made myself finish out the semester as best I could. For what I've been through, I feel like I've learned things about life that some people might not be exposed to. Is that wisdom? I'm too old to be wise! Help!
