Checking back to this topic regularly could be a good idea.
We recently got hack'n'griefed, and unfortunately I was too stupid to make world backups. So this is a complete restart. Don't expect any big buildings yet.
You will have to claim your area by yourself with a golden shovel, which also is the only item you will be given once when you join. Starter kits are for pussies.
You and only you are able to build on your area. Other people can still open trapdoors, fence gates and wooden doors. Use redstone and iron doors to get some more privacy. This also adds a nice RPG feature: you can type /siege <player> and try to kill the other player while he's in his house. If you kill him, you may keep all his drops. Also, all his iron doors (but not his chests) will unlock. Make sure to add some defense mechanisms to your shelter.
I'm looking for a Moderator. If you're interested, active and older than 14 years, write a short application here. You should AT LEAST include why you think you should get that rank, how you handle "normal" problems on a server and how often you are online.
Rules:
#1 - No client mods that give you an unfair advantage. I don't like X-rayers and flying people at all.
#2 - Respect the other players. This includes not to lie and/or curse.
#3 - Don't ask for being promoted to any higher rank. I will ask you when I think you earned it.
#4 - No advertising, especially not for other servers. An exception is if someone explicitly asks for it, i.e. "Does someone know a client mod to make flying buildings?" then the answer "Sure, use blakmajik's Zeppelin mod" would be allowed.
#5 - Don't destroy the landscape. If you need some materials, make it look nice afterwards. This includes floating trees.
#6 - Don't spam, or I'll have to jail & mute you.
#7 - Don't place random blocks. Do that on your own area, if you really have to. Please note that you CAN build outside your area, but it won't be protected there.
#8 - Only use TNT and lava inside your own area or underground.
#9 - If you're offline for more than two weeks without leaving a good reason in this topic, all your areas and buildings will be deleted and you will be evicted from the networks.
#10 - Don't destroy the gold/glowstone blocks marking your area.
#11 - Please report players not following these rules to the admin Mephilis7.
Ignoring these rules will result in a warning and/or a temporary jail sentence. If you keep up not following the rules, you'll be banned. Also, don't even try to grief, except you are in /siege mode. "Light" blocks will become breakable then, i.e. dirt or glass.
