Hi there.
Note this is posted almost verbatim on another forum site. I apologise if this is against the rules - I tried to read the "what to post here" but the forum has an error!
I am hosting a Tekkit Classic server, and looking for some regulars to be admins and builders, and just players, to help create a server for some old school easy going, friendly Minecrafing. There are no rules set in stone, but I'd be happy to set some rules if the server grows, depending on what people want.
Salaries will be industry-matched, performance-based, index-linked and entirely fictional.
Some of the recruiting posts I've seen seem to be a total power trip. Seriously, asking someone to rate their maturity out of ten is like asking someone if they have a good sense of humour. I'm not that picky, better to start off by getting some people, and then weed out any bad ones if it becomes necessary. I don't imagine having a big numbers problem...!
So, please fill out the following application. I am obviously having some fun here, but the server is real. I just like to amuse myself, and maybe, hopefully even someone else.
Minecraft Experience: Anyone with more than 12,000 hours frightens me.
Tekkit Classic Experience (if any): Bonus points if you played Tekkit before it was "classic".
General Tech Knowledge: Just the basics, do you know what an IP address is, what NAT means, and the difference between CPU and RAM
Timezone/Location: I'm in the UK, GMT. It doesn't matter where you are, but I tend to operate during the day. English as a first language is NOT a requirement.
Age: Not to discriminate, just because I want to know. Bonus points if you're over 20, there don't seem to be many adults here. As for me, there's a good chance I'm your parents' age.
Dev Knowledge: Not something I need, just curious. If you've built your own plugins etc, that would be great experience to have on board. Or if you can't code, but you have installed plugins manually, that'd be great. If you don't know what a plugin is, that's fine too.
Scenarios: This seems to be a common thing in these posts, so I'll include it:
1 - You're playing on my server, and a meteorite crashes just off the Yucatan peninsula, creating a century of winter and wiping out human life. What do you do (assume that chat is still working)?
2 - Whilst out in a nearby park enjoying some fresh air, you are hit by a crippling urge to play Minecraft. What method of transport do you use to get back to your PC?
3 - Would you rather have a hand made out of ham, or an armpit that dispenses suncream?
In all seriousness, it'd be great to get some people on board to help create something that people can enjoy. This isn't a power trip (you might have seen my other post offering free server hosting to other owners), I'm looking for someone to help with some of the "work" needed to establish a server. The only criteria which will get you rejected or kicked out is:
a - being a certifiable d*ck
b - a power trip, wanting to be admin to control people
c - thinking you know better than everyone else (this counts as "a")
e - having no sense of humour, or taking the game too seriously
f - not noticing that missed a later out of this list
Come one, come all, join the fun and lets make something wonderful. Peace out.

So pleased to have even the tiniest interest. I've got one here, and one on a competing forum. I have PM'd you both.
Anyone else, if you're in to Tekkit at all, please join me here: https://discord.gg/zZVcbN

Minecraft Experience: Since Alpha 1.1.2 or something. About 3,000 - 5,000 hours. Maybe more xD
Tekkit Classic Experience (if any): I was really good at Tekkit back in the day. I remember the old Technic pack from beta 1.7.3 or 1.8.1. Rip :'(
General Tech Knowledge: I know what an IP address is, an example of how I (unfortunately) remember NAT is the limitation on my Xbox that drives me nuts. I make PCs myself, I know what I'm doing with tech.
Timezone/Location: AEST boi. GMT +10. Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Age: My parents are 57 and 45... I'm 14.
Dev Knowledge: I did own a server... But I can't code plugins like I used to. I know the languages C, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and some BASIC.
Scenarios: This seems to be a common thing in these posts, so I'll include it:
1 - You're playing on my server, and a meteorite crashes just off the Yucatan peninsula, creating a century of winter and wiping out human life. What do you do (assume that chat is still working)?
I would let everyone know about it and tell them to take cover (lol)
2 - Whilst out in a nearby park enjoying some fresh air, you are hit by a crippling urge to play Minecraft. What method of transport do you use to get back to your PC?
Walking, at least I can fufill my day of fresh air.
3 - Would you rather have a hand made out of ham, or an armpit that dispenses suncream?
Armpit that dispenses suncream. I don't want anyone eating me!
