I am trying to make a server.. doesn't work!

hey guys swift here i need help with making my server. i want to make one with multicraft or the server configuration thing directly from minecraft.net. i would really appreciate it if you could tell it to me step by step simply. sorry if i couldn't undestand the tutorials from youtube. its so complicated!!
