Adding a server, "failed to ping"
Hi,
My server is behind a hardware firewall and I believe this is causing an error when trying to add it to planetminecraft as I'm getting:
My server is up and runing, it is accepting players.
I would like to know what IP/domain is used by planetminecraft to ping servers and is it a standard ping (icmp) or are you querying the game server?
Thank you

"Failed to ping "X.X.X.X:X". Make sure it is properly setup, port forwarded, online and other people can connect to it.

We query using the standard Minecraft TCP ping packet.
Does your server verify but not ping?

Hey there,
I've had quite a lot of people come to me with issues pinging their servers.
Planet Minecraft is currently changing over servers at the moment, so this may be the cause. I would suggest trying again in a few hours or so.
If after a few hours/days this issue has not resolved itself, I suggest contacting Paril (http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/paril/) as I am sure that this is an issue on our end.

Thank you for your answer but the ports are properly forwarded, I can query the server just fine from other websites such as gametracker so I believe this is something to do with how planetminecraft is querying (maybe blocked by my pfsense) and I would like to white list the querying IP's.
Hi,
You can test to check if the port is open on http://canyouseeme.org/
if it's closed you probably haven't port forwarded or something is blocking the server.
if you have any anti-virus software make sure the port is opened in their software or it may be the problem
