What are levels and classes on Planet Minecraft? Do they matter?

Levels also help you feel good about your content, the more levels you get, the happier you're with what you've posted. And as far as the classes, it kinda shows what you're all about, for instance WTFshady's is "Journeyman pokemon", which shows that he's level 10-19 and likes pokemon.And mine is "Jounreyman warrior" which shows that i'm level 10-19 and that you don't want to meet up with me in a dark alley.

They still don't show how much you've contributed to the community for real though. There are a lot of level 1s who are moderators or that are well known everywhere on this site.
